Julian Dicks
Do you reckon he sits there thinking "What the fuck is Bilic doing? That's clearly the wrong substitution/formation/starting line-up" but doesn't say anything as he's got bills to pay?

Re: Julian Dicks
I thought it was well known that he is a fairly junior coach who basically puts out the cones and runs players through a few drills. Bilic wanted to get his old room mate and club legend in to help out. Rumour has it he was due to get the bullet from the ladies team as the players hated him so Slav gave him a bit of a lifeline. I don't think he has any input at all into tactics etc.

Re: Julian Dicks
Agree with bunbury. None of us know his role so it's just pointless slagging off of a club great, even if he was hopeless it'd still be bilic's fault for employing the bloke.. He deserves better.

Perhaps talking about Julian Dicks role is a total waste of time and that is the whole point of Julian Dicks role?

Re: Julian Dicks
I do find it bizarre how many people on here seem to want to pick on somebody who is clearly a junior member of the coaching staff. He is continually referred to as the 'defensive coach' when he is nothing of the sort and I would imagine is delegated more minor coaching duties. Why not pick on Bilic's right hand man or Bilic himself who has ultimate responsibility for the coaching staff. Dicks was a great player for us, battled back from a serious injury and was a shining light in some poor teams. He deserves more than the regular slagging he gets on here.

I can't condone all this getting stuck into a West Ham legend. Bilic and his whole team are shit and ineffective don't go mugging off a legend because he's the only name apart from Bilic you know, you fuckin turncoat wankers.

Re: Julian Dicks
If you have ever followed Julian on his twitter account before he returned to the club his solution to the teams results during a bad run would be to "put all the kids into the team as they couldn't do any worse"

That would sum up his footballing brain.

Thing what makes me laugh is that the manager and trainer are two of the best defenders that have played at West Ham. Yet they don't seem to be able to express that to the team.

Re: Julian Dicks
Reading Harry Redknapp's latest book tells its own story about Julian's character as a player who regularly refused to train and was divisive in the dressing room. Maybe he's changed but it left an impression of doubt about his effectiveness in this 2017 situation especially with the defence letting in 13 goals in 6 games, the worse in the Prem with Palace who have yet to get a point or score a goal...

Sadly, I agree with every bloody word with that.

What a bloody shame this all is at the moment.

Re: Julian Dicks
Dicks represents everything that is wrong at the club.

Absolute, abject failure as a manager, no experience of coaching a successful team and not the sharpest tool in the box either. Possibly quite cheap though?

He was a typical 2 Dave's move to appoint a coach on the basis of his past reputation as a West Ham player not his ability to do the job. Same might be said of Bilic albeit he had at least had some moderate success with Croatia National team and Besiktas.

Reality is that the owners will not appoint what we need. They do not know what is needed. They have no more understanding, probably less, than most on this site. They a apply sex shop retail sales and management approach to running a football club. Tacky, cheap and unsavoury is their business model topped off with lots of bling :-)

He may speak several languages but he needs to improve his English. And stop being so dour, he iss about as animated as our football in interviews.I have a feeling his team talks will be on a par with Uncle Avram´s!!

He gives his team talks in legal Latin rock lyrics, while accompanying himself on his axe.

Unfortunately, he sometimes fails to make himself understood.

Re: Julian Dicks
Mourinho doesn't play the guitar, only speaks 2 languages and is not a qualified lawyer but he is a good manager who can organise a defence.

Trying to think who I would prefer.

Bilic can play guitar, speaks several languages and is a fully qualified lawyer. And you call him dumb? Pot, kettle, black.
